Belangrijk: Beoordeling beheerdersactiviteit

Goedendag. In 2013 is een beleid met betrekking tot het verwijderen van "geavanceerde rechten" (moderator, bureaucraat, etc.) bij consensus vastgesteld door de gemeenschap. Op basis van dit beleid beoordelen de stewards de activiteit van de moderators op alle wiki's van de Wikimedia Foundation waar geen eigen inactiviteitsbeleid geldt. Voor zover ons bekend, heeft deze wiki geen formeel proces voor het intrekken van "geavanceerde rechten" van inactieve accounts. Dit betekent dat de stewards zich hierover gaan ontfermen op basis van admin activiteitsbeoordeling.

We hebben vastgesteld dat de volgende gebruikers voldoen aan de inactiviteitscriteria (geen bewerkingen en geen gelogde acties in de afgelopen twee jaar):

1. Globe-trotter (bureaucrat + administrator)
2. Hansm (bureaucrat + administrator)
3. Rein N. (bureaucrat + administrator)

Deze gebruikers ontvangen binnenkort een bericht, waarin hen gevraagd wordt het binnen de gemeenschap aan te geven als zij enkele of alle van hun rechten willen behouden. Als de gebruikers niet reageren, zullen hun geavanceerde rechten door de stewards worden ingetrokken.

Wil jullie gemeenschap haar eigen activiteitsbeoordelingsproces vaststellen, dat voor gaat op het globale proces, willen jullie een andere beslissing nemen met betrekking tot deze inactieve gebruikers met rechten of hebben jullie hier al een beleid voor dat niet bekend is bij de stewards, wil je dit dan aangeven op het berichtenbord van de stewards op Meta-Wiki, zodat we weten dat we niet verder hoeven te gaan met het beoordelen van de rechten op jouw wiki. The intention is to inspire collective conversation and collaborative proposal development about these key questions.

The Universal Code of Conduct (UCoC) Enforcement Guidelines were published 24 January 2022 as a proposed way to apply the Universal Code of Conduct across the movement. Comments about the guidelines can be shared here or the Meta-wiki talk page.

There will be conversations on Zoom on 4 February 2022 at 15:00 UTC, 25 February 2022 at 12:00 UTC, and 4 March 2022 at 15:00 UTC. Join the UCoC project team and drafting committee members to discuss the guidelines and voting process.

Several improvements around templates

Hello, from March 9, several improvements around templates will become available on your wiki:

• Fundamental improvements of the VisualEditor template dialog (1, 2),
• Improvements to make it easier to put a template on a page (3) (for the template dialogs in VisualEditor, 2010 Wikitext and New Wikitext Mode),
• and improvements in the syntax highlighting extension CodeMirror (4, 5) (which is available on wikis with writing direction left-to-right).

All these changes are part of the “Templates” project by WMDE Technical Wishes. We hope they will help you in your work, and we would love to hear your feedback on the talk pages of these projects.

A vote in SecurePoll from 7 to 21 March 2022 is scheduled as part of the ratification process for the Universal Code of Conduct (UCoC) Enforcement guidelines. Eligible voters are invited to answer a poll question and share comments. Read voter information and eligibility details. During the poll, voters will be asked if they support the enforcement of the Universal Code of Conduct based on the proposed guidelines.

The Universal Code of Conduct (UCoC) provides a baseline of acceptable behavior for the entire movement. The revised enforcement guidelines were published 24 January 2022 as a proposed way to apply the policy across the movement. A Wikimedia Foundation Board statement calls for a ratification process where eligible voters will have an opportunity to support or oppose the adoption of the UCoC Enforcement guidelines in a vote. There are events scheduled to learn more and discuss:

Invitation to Hubs event: Global Conversation on 2022-03-12 at 13:00 UTC

Hello!

The Movement Strategy and Governance team of the Wikimedia Foundation would like to invite you to the next event about "Regional and Thematic Hubs". The Wikimedia Movement is in the process of understanding what Regional and Thematic Hubs should be. Our workshop in November was a good start (read the report), but we're not finished yet.

Over the last weeks we conducted about 16 interviews with groups working on establishing a Hub in their context (see Hubs Dialogue). These interviews informed a report that will serve as a foundation for discussion on March 12. The report is planned to be published on March 9.

The event will take place on March 12, 13:00 to 16:00 UTC on Zoom. Interpretation will be provided in French, Spanish, Arabic, Russian, and Portuguese. Registration is open, and will close on March 10. Anyone interested in the topic is invited to join us. More information on the event on Meta-wiki.

As a small symbolic gesture in favor of the Ukrainian population, the Italian community of Wikivoyage has decided to collaborate to push one Ukrainian city as Destination of the Month.

The choice fell on Lviv (it:Leopoli) because from a touristic point of view, among the interesting historical Ukrainian cities, this is the one furthest away city from the current conflict and therefore (we hope) the one that will suffer the least damage and changes.

Verwijderde passages uit WP-artikelen over Franse gemeenten

Ter info: enkele dagen geleden zijn er in een aantal WP-artikelen over Franse gemeenten (de meeste in w:Categorie:Gemeente in Aude) stukken tekst verwijderd die qua vorm denk ik nog best op dit project zouden passen (zie hier voor een voorbeeld; Wutsje heeft kort daarvoor en daarna een reeks vergelijkbare edits gedaan op soortgelijke artikelen). Misschien voelt iemand hier zich geroepen om wat over te zetten? Hier en daar stonden ook bronnen bij de verwijderde passages, die kunnen evt. ook worden meegenomen. Ik geloof trouwens dat de betreffende gemeenten hier vaak nog helemaal geen eigen pagina hebben.

(Overigens blijft er zo wel heel weinig over van de WP-artikelen in kwestie; nog helemaal geen geschiedenissectie e.d. Helaas het zoveelste voorbeeld van hoe gebrekkig de coördinatie tussen de verschillende projecten is.) De Wikischim (overleg) 10 apr 2022 11:55 (CEST)

Revisions to the Universal Code of Conduct (UCoC) Enforcement Guidelines

Hello all,

We'd like to provide an update on the work on the Enforcement Guidelines for the Universal Code of Conduct. After the conclusion of the community vote on the guidelines in March, the Community Affairs committee (CAC) of the Board asked that several areas of the guidelines be reviewed for improvements before the Board does its final review. These areas were identified based on community discussions and comments provided during the vote. The CAC also requested review of the controversial Note in 3.1 of the UCoC itself.

Once more, a big thank you to all who voted, especially to all who left constructive feedback and comments! The project team is working with the Board to establish a timeline for this work, and will communicate this next month.

Members of the two prior UCoC Drafting Committees have generously offered their time to help shape improvements to the Guidelines. You can read more about them and their work here, as well as read summaries of their weekly meetings in 2022.

Wikimedians have provided many valuable comments together with the vote and in other conversations. Given the size and diversity of the Wikimedia community, there are even more voices out there who can give ideas on how to improve the enforcement guidelines and add even more valuable ideas to the process. Hallo. Ik wilde graag een update geven over het Desktopverbeteringen-project, waar het Wikimedia Foundation-webteam de afgelopen jaren aan heeft gewerkt. Ons werk is bijna klaar! 🎉

Wij zouden graag zien dat deze verbeteringen de standaard worden voor lezers en bewerkers op alle wiki's. In de komende weken zullen we gesprekken beginnen op meer wiki's, waaronder die van jou. 🗓️ We lezen graag uw suggesties!

Het doel van het project is om de interface uitnodigender en comfortabeler te maken voor lezers en nuttiger voor gevorderde gebruikers. Het project bestaat uit een reeks functieverbeteringen die het gemakkelijker maken om te lezen en te leren, binnen de pagina te navigeren, te zoeken, te wisselen van taal, artikeltabbladen en het gebruikersmenu te gebruiken, en meer. De verbeteringen zijn standaard al zichtbaar voor lezers en bewerkers op meer dan 30 wiki's, waaronder de Wikipedia's in het Frans, Portugees en Perzisch.

De wijzigingen zijn alleen van toepassing op de skin Vector. Monobook of Timeless worden niet beïnvloed.

De nieuwste functies

• Inhoudsopgave - onze versie is gemakkelijker te bereiken, context van de pagina te verkrijgen, en door de pagina te navigeren zonder te hoeven scrollen. Het wordt momenteel getest op onze pilot-wiki's. Het is ook beschikbaar voor bewerkers die zich hebben aangemeld voor de Vector 2022-skin.
• Paginahulpmiddelen - er zijn nu twee soorten links in de zijbalk. Er zijn acties en hulpmiddelen voor individuele pagina's (zoals Gerelateerde wijzigingen) en links van wiki-brede aard (zoals Recente wijzigingen). We gaan deze opsplitsen in twee intuïtieve menu's.

Hoe de verbeteringen te activeren

Globale voorkeuren

• Het is mogelijk het op individuele wiki's te activeren op het tabblad Uiterlijk in de voorkeuren door "Vector (2022)" te selecteren. Het is ook mogelijk het op alle wiki's tegelijk te activeren met behulp van de Globale voorkeuren.
• Op wiki's waar de wijzigingen standaard voor iedereen zichtbaar zijn, kunnen ingelogde gebruikers altijd teruggaan naar de oude Vector. Er is een gemakkelijk toegankelijke link in de zijbalk van de nieuwe Vector.

Engelstalige Wikivoyage

Op de Engelse Wikivoyage hebben we de laatste tijd te maken gekregen met hardnekkig vandalisme, hoogstwaarschijnlijk met politieke motieven in de context van het aanslepende conflict tussen Rusland en Oekraïne. De gevandaliseerde artikels zijn uitsluitend regio's in Rusland en Oekraïne. Hoewel dergelijk vandalisme voorlopig nog niet op de Nederlandse Wikivoyage werd vastgesteld, is het aangewezen om extra waakzaam te zijn. De symptomen zijn steeds dezelfde:

• Vandalen zijn uitsluitend geregistreerde gebruikers.
• Hebben het uitsluitend op regio's in Rusland en Oekraïne gemunt.
• Gemakkelijk herkenbaar doordat er grote hoeveelheden inhoud worden gewist (voorbeeld: voy:en:Murmansk Oblast).
• Er wordt nooit een reden opgegeven voor deze schadelijke bewerkingen in de samenvatting.
• Soms worden hele artikels gewist, en dan opnieuw ingevuld met vertalingen van de Russische Wikivoyage-editie (voorbeeld: voy:en:Kaspiysk).

Het is erg jammer dat Wikivoyage misbruikt wordt voor politieke doeleinden, maar de reiziger mag hier geen slachtoffer van worden. Hoe sneller de schadelijke bewerkingen worden ongedaan gemaakt, hoe beter. ArticCynda (overleg) ArticCynda (overleg) 25 jun 2022 11:35 (CEST)

Dat dacht ik aanvankelijk ook, maar als je naar de paginageschiedenis kijkt dan kan je duidelijk zien dat de inhoud die toegevoegd wordt effectief legitieme reisinhoud is, en dat het deze zogezegde "beheerders" zijn verantwoordelijk zijn voor vandalisme en legitieme inhoud op grote schaal te verwijderen zonder gegronde reden. Het leek me vreemd, dus heb het meteen aangekaart op een overlegpagina. Maar binnen enkele minuten werd die discussie verwijderd en zelfs gewist uit de paginageschiedenis. Meer bewijs is er voor mij niet nodig om kwaadwillig gedrag te veronderstellen. Dus zeker opletten geblazen, in geval dit soort gecamoufleerd vandalisme overloopt naar de Nederlandse Wikivoyage. ArticCynda, I'm sorry to say, but what you just mentioned was a pathetic excuse to evade your block on the English Wikivoyage.

All edits were your IPs and sockpuppets, where not one, not two, not three, but five users had to intervene. None of this has to do with the Russian and Ukraine, nor does it have anything to do with censorship. It's a pity that you could not accept community consensus (voir voy:en:Wikivoyage talk:User ban nominations/Archive_2021-2023), and as with any Wikimedia project, evading your block is not allowed. None of this has to do with "vandalism", nor does this have to do with censorship. Too bad you couldn't accept the rumple you made for yourself.

SHB2000, ik denk dat je de omvang van kwaadwillige acties sinds de aanvang van het Rusland-Oekraïne-conflict onderschat. We hebben sinds maart 2022 effectief een explosieve toename van vandalisme vastgesteld dat zich toespitst op artikels in Rusland en Oekraïne. Aanzienlijke hoeveelheden reisinhoud worden stelselmatig verwijderd en/of vervangen door inhoud van minderwaardige kwaliteit die vertaald wordt uit de Russische Wikivoyage. Dit zijn harde feiten die iedereen kan checken via de artikelgeschiedenis van de geviseerde artikels.

Daarbovenop zien we ook verontrustende patronen in de aard van de bewerkingen. Ook voor de Rusland-Oekraïne-crisis zagen we af en toe vandalisme op Wikivoyage, maar gelukkig veelal beperkt tot sporadische propaganda (bv. van Chinese nationalisten) en ook veel spam. Daarentegen, nu zien we systematisch vandalisme dat specifiek gericht is op Rusland. De frequentie van het vastgestelde vandalisme en hardnekkigheid doet vermoeden dat dit geen geïsoleerde gevallen zijn, maar een gecoördineerde aanval op Wikivoyage.

Merk op dat ik geen uitspraak doe over de motieven hierachter. Ik kan alleen maar vaststellen dat de intensiteit is toegenomen sinds het Rusland-Oekraïne-conflict. Voor Wikivoyage maakt het ook niet uit wat de motieven zijn; onze prioriteit is de reiziger die correcte en actuele informatie ter beschikking moet hebben. Als Wikivoyage-gemeenschap draaien we daarom bewerkingen terug die niet in het belang van onze lezers zijn, ongeacht of dit politiek gemotiveerd vandalisme is of spam.

Dat gezegd zijnde, in dit geval heeft het vandalisme soms ook consequenties op de grond, meer bepaald als het vandalisme de integriteit van informatie betreffende veiligheid of gezondheid aantast. Dit is geen hypothetisch scenario, we hebben recent censuur gezien in discussies die veiligheid in Dagestan aangaan. Het spreekt voor zich dat valse informatie of censuur in dergelijke gevoelige discussies ernstige gevolgen kan hebben voor reizigers naar die regio's. Daarom is het essentieel dat we als Wikivoyage gemeenschap op de hoogte zijn van politiek geïnspireerd vandalisme, en er zo snel mogelijk tegen optreden. — ArticCynda (overleg) 30 jun 2022 12:26 (CEST)

Indien je problemen hebt met hoe lokale admins op de Engelstalige Wikivoyage dingen doen, dien je dat daar te bediscussiëren. Als dat niet gaat, kan dat ook op Meta.

Die discussie hier voeren of van elders hier importeren is niet de bedoeling.

De geschetste situatie van het eerste bericht heb ik, samen met een andere vaste gebruiker van nl-Wikivoyage, bekeken. Het geschetste beeld herkennen wij niet.

Wat in de geschiedenis van diverse pagina's op de Engelstalige Wikivoyage te zien is, is dat er flinke stukken tekst worden toegevoegd die binnen een aantal minuten door admins weer worden verwijderd. Met andere woorden: iemand voegt een lap tekst in, een admin constateert dat deze toevoeging problematisch is en herstelt vervolgens de vorige versie. Dat er nooit een reden wordt opgegeven is een leugen. Als er twijfels zijn over een toevoeging, is het vanzelfsprekend dat de vorige versie wordt hersteld. Op de Engelstalige Wikivoyage zijn er 41 admins die elkaar controleren en beoordelen of bijvoorbeeld het herstellen naar een eerdere versie en verbergen gerechtvaardigd is.

"Meer bewijs is er voor mij niet nodig om kwaadwillig gedrag te veronderstellen." -> Dit is een totaal niet onderbouwde bewering en is in strijd met de beginselen van Wikimedia. Op geen enkele manier geef je bewijs van ook maar enige schadelijkheid. Het eveneens benoemen van een herstelactie als "vandalisme" is buitengewoon problematisch. Er worden hier leugens verkondigd en er is sprake van kwaadsprekerij, met andere woorden: laster. Als dit gedrag doorgaat zal er actie ondernomen worden.

Omdat laster niet thuis hoort op Wikivoyage (los van de verdere problemen aan deze discussie) zal deze discussie over een aantal dagen van deze pagina verwijderd worden. Romaine (overleg) 6 jul 2022 05:29 (CEST)

Community members in the 2022 Board of Trustees election are invited to propose statements to use in the Election Compass.

An Election Compass is a tool to help voters select the candidates that best align with their beliefs and views. The community members will propose statements for the candidates to answer using a Lickert scale (agree/neutral/disagree). The candidates’ answers to the statements will be loaded into the Election Compass tool. Voters will use the tool by entering in their answer to the statements (agree/disagree/neutral). The results will show the candidates that best align with the voter’s beliefs and views.

Here is the timeline for the Election Compass

• July 8 - 20: Community members propose statements for the Election Compass
• July 21 - 22: Elections Committee reviews statements for clarity and removes off-topic statements
• July 23 - August 1: Volunteers vote on the statements
• August 2 - 4: Elections Committee selects the top 15 statements
• August 5 - 12: candidates align themselves with the statements
• August 15: The Election Compass opens for voters to use to help guide their voting decision

The Elections Committee will select the top 15 statements at the beginning of August. The Elections Committee will oversee the process, supported by the Movement Strategy and Governance team. MSG will check that the questions are clear, there are no duplicates, no typos, and so on.
